Year 10 Chemistry

Use common ion charges to construct electrically neutral formulas for ionic compounds.

Interpret ionic bonding and compound formulas using the terms ion, cation, anion, charge, subscript, and electrostatic attraction.

Predict the products of acid–base neutralisation reactions and write balanced molecular equations for them.

Use the metal reactivity series to predict displacement reactions and write balanced molecular equations for them.

Derive net ionic equations from balanced molecular equations by separating aqueous ions and cancelling spectator ions.
