The Status Decoupling Protocol

Reconstruct a personal chain in which capacity produced results, recognition, and an eventual position.

Classify elements of a case as capacity, function, recognition, position, or self without conflating them.

Identify observable signs that an earned position has become part of a person's experienced identity.

Distinguish legitimate stewardship of a role or reputation from status-defense that interferes with function.

Map the status-defense impulses activated by criticism, rejection, competition, or public judgment in a specific case.

Choose a function-prioritizing action after separating the reality of a status-threat feeling from its authority over behavior.

Use available evidence to distinguish actual external rivalry from internally generated resistance around emerging capacity.

Select a response to competition that preserves function without requiring a display of superiority or restoration of rank.

Detect the transition from perceived insult to status-defense before a reaction is expressed in a simulated scenario.

Apply the function-or-position diagnostic to choose an effective response during criticism, humiliation, or public embarrassment.

Separate damage to position from impairment of capacity after failure, exclusion, demotion, or disgrace.

Construct a function-first recovery plan that does not depend on immediately restoring recognition or image.

Define what a current position is for by linking its authority and recognition to concrete functional responsibilities.

Identify behaviors that treat authority as ownership rather than as an instrument for function.

Apply the complete Status Decoupling Protocol to a personally relevant high-risk situation and create a reusable response plan.
