Fast SHSAT Math and ELA

Complete a short mixed set from current official-format SHSAT material under a generous time limit to establish low-pressure accuracy and pace.

Complete a 30-minute mixed SHSAT diagnostic under strict test conditions and record progress at 10-minute intervals.

Calculate attempted-question rate, correct-answer rate, and accuracy for each timed interval, then quantify the overall performance gap between low-pressure and timed work.

Classify each diagnostic error as a knowledge gap, misread, rushed calculation, unsupported answer change, or concentration lapse.

Identify the earliest personal signs that concentration or pacing is beginning to break down during timed work.

Perform a 20-second attention-reset routine and resume the next concrete step of a question.

Create an error log that pairs each mistake with one specific prevention rule.

Set realistic 10-minute progress ranges for a 30-minute drill using baseline accuracy and pace rather than question count alone.

Make a solve-now, skip, or return-later decision within 30 seconds and use a format-appropriate marker to locate a skipped question.

Prioritize skipped questions according to confidence, expected time, and likely points earned.

Use a planned time buffer to check only answers with a specific reason for review.

Complete a 30-minute mixed drill while staying within personalized checkpoint ranges and recording any pacing deviations.

Translate an SHSAT word problem into an equation, table, or diagram before calculating.

Organize scratch work so each calculation can be checked without re-solving the problem.

Estimate the sign, size, or range of a math answer before selecting a choice.

Use answer choices for efficient substitution, testing, or backsolving when appropriate.

Choose the faster of two valid solution methods for a timed math problem.

Verify a math answer with a check that takes no more than 20 seconds.

Complete a 30-minute math drill while applying the anti-rushing checks and tracking avoidable errors.

Distinguish a missing math concept from a correct concept executed carelessly.

State the rule, formula, or method needed to correct one recurring math error.

Rewrite a missed math solution with every necessary reasoning step shown.

Solve three parallel problems to confirm that a corrected math method transfers.

Reach at least 80% accuracy on a short timed drill targeting one identified weakness.

Use transfer results to decide whether a math gap is repaired or formulate a precise question to review with the tutor.

Compare read-first and question-first passage approaches using timed accuracy data.

Compress each paragraph of a passage into a short mental or written summary.

Track transitions and reference words to maintain the logical thread of a passage.

Locate the specific sentence or detail that supports a reading answer.

Eliminate reading choices that are unsupported, too extreme, or outside the passage.

Recover from mental blur by resetting and rereading a targeted section instead of restarting the passage.

Complete a 30-minute reading drill while maintaining comprehension, evidence use, and personalized pacing checkpoints.

Choose a legal ELA task order for the current SHSAT format using timed accuracy, confidence, and pacing evidence.

Set a latest-start checkpoint that protects enough time for Revising and Editing questions.

Triage Revising and Editing questions by expected time and confidence.

Identify the grammar, usage, or organization issue being tested before comparing answer choices.

Verify an editing answer against a specific language rule or organizational purpose rather than intuition alone.

Complete a timed Revising and Editing sprint after a fatigue-inducing reading drill while preserving accuracy.

Diagnose which late-section errors were caused by fatigue, rushing, or a true language gap.

Correct one recurring language gap and apply the relevant rule accurately to three parallel Revising and Editing questions.

Trigger the learned attention reset at the first sign of rushing during a timed drill.

Use a brief planned pause at a pacing checkpoint without falling behind schedule.

Use a next-question cue to release concern about a submitted answer and redirect attention within 10 seconds.

Maintain readable scratch work when the timer creates urgency.

Recover pacing after a difficult group of questions without rushing the entire remainder.

Complete a timed set at target pace while keeping accuracy within five percentage points of the personal low-pressure baseline.

Convert error-log patterns into three personal rules for preventing avoidable mistakes.

Create a full-test plan for the current official format that specifies task order, checkpoint ranges, skip rules, and a protected review buffer.

Complete a 60-minute back-to-back ELA and Math rehearsal in the planned order while recording checkpoint adherence and focus lapses.

Audit the rehearsal by comparing planned and actual pacing and classifying every avoidable lost point.

Adjust one test-plan variable based on rehearsal evidence and retest it with a parallel 20- to 30-minute set.

Perform a short pre-test and first-question routine that settles attention without delaying work.

Create a final-week schedule using available official materials that balances short accuracy drills, one rehearsal, error review, and rest.
